Welcome to Fairfield Animal Hospital
Serving the pets of Kelowna, West Kelowna, Rutland, and the Central Okanagan since 1976
Fairfield Animal Hospital is the only 24-hour emergency animal hospital in the Central Okanagan, serving Kelowna, West Kelowna, Glenmore, Lower Mission, and surrounding communities. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including all holidays. We do not book routine appointments such as vaccine updates, spays, or neuters; we operate solely on an emergency triage basis. Patients are welcome to come to Fairfield on an emergency basis if your regular daytime veterinary clinic is unavailable.

What Happens "In The Back"
Our veterinarians perform examinations, run diagnostics, and provide treatments to pets in "the back" treatment area.
If there is any possibility that a patient is critically injured or ill, the pet may be taken straight into the hospital’s treatment areas based on our triage system. These patients will be assessed by a doctor immediately and receive life-saving treatment such as oxygen, fluids, and/or medication when appropriate.

Triage & Waiting
We do everything possible to ensure that every patient receives timely access to veterinary care. Much like human emergency rooms, we operate on a triage system – this means that more seriously ill or injured patients are seen before less seriously ill or injured patients. During high-volume times, patients with minor ailments and injuries can experience longer wait times. We do our best to keep you apprised of the expected wait time and the current situation at the emergency clinic and will see all pets who need us as soon as we possibly can.
